St. John Police Department

The St. John Police Department has been approved to hire two (2) police officers through the Department’s Emergency Hire Process to fill current vacancies.

 

The St. John Police Department will be accepting applications for the immediate openings as Probationary Police Officer. Applicants are required to be an Indiana state-accredited police officer with membership in the Indiana Public Retirement 1977 Police Officers’ Pension Fund.

 

Applicants who qualify may obtain an application by either downloading a copy at app.stjohnpd.com, or picking up a printed copy from the Police Chief’s Administrative Assistant at the St. John Police Department, Public Safety Facility (Second Floor), located at 11033 West 93rd Avenue. Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

 

Completed applications must be returned in person to the Police Chief’s Administrative Assistant during office hours. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The completed applications must to be returned no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019. Upon the successful completion of probation, officers may be promoted to First Class Patrol Officer based on prior police service.

A Second Class Patrol Officer earns $68,402.88, and a First Class Patrol Officer earns $73,797.36.
